Edith V. Weaver, 93, of Washington passed away at 2:10pm Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Reflections Memory Center in Washington.
She was born on June 13, 1922 in Hopedale, IL the daughter of Aaron and Mary Witric Martin. She married Glenn D. Weaver on April 24, 1940 in Hopedale, IL and he passed away on April 26, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, five brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are two daughters Bonnie (Jack) Chavis of Chillicothe, IL and Jeanine (Steve) Knabe of Washington, two sons David Weaver and Thomas (Sandy) Weaver both of Washington, Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren along with one brother Larry (Joyce) Martin.
She was co-owner, along with her husband, of Weaver Trucking Inc. where she served as secretary and treasurer for the company. She also drove and loaded her own truck on a garbage route, with her hair neatly combed and lipstick and earrings on. Her last claim to fame was her homemade scrubbies. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church in Washington. The family would like to express their gratitude for the kind and compassion care from the entire staff of The Villas of Hollybrook and Reflections Memory Care both in Washington.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10am Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church in Washington with Pastor Ken Sistrunk officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5pm until 7pm at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington Further visitation will be one-hour prior to her service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. [2]
