  • Notes
    • Joseph William Schertz son of Andre and Jacobina (Engel) Schertz was born on 10 August 1824 in Weidesheim (Kalhausen) France. He lived in Lorentzen France where his father was a miller. He was a member of Willow Springs Mennonite Church. He came to America around 1852 with his widowed mother an dmost of his siblings. He died on 10 May 1885.

      Previous two wives:
Catherine Ioder (1832-1856) buried Albrecht Family Cemetery, Bureau Co., IL (.. 1866)

      Barbara Ioder:
Second wife of Joseph Schertz. They were married by the 1860 census for a short time and had no surviving children. She died by 1866. Presumably she is related to Joseph's first wife Catherine Ioder and to the Albrecht family since she is buried in the Albrecht Family cemetery. No certain relationship is found. [2]
