Mary LaVerne Hinton GrieserGrieser-Delmar, 83, of Rockville died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton.
She was a retired registered dietician.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924 in Champaign County, Illinois to the late Wilbur Hinton and Erma Fillenworth Hinton.
Her husband of 61 years Delmar E. Grieser whom she married Jan. 25, 1947 in Bedford, Ky. died three hours and thirty five minutes prior to her on July 8, 2008.
Survivors include one son, John Grieser and wife Karen of Belvidere, Ill.; three daughters, Mary Burkhart and husband John of Greencastle, Ind., Rebecca Forcey and husband John of Rockville, Ind., Barbara Seliger and husband Scott of Terre Haute; one brother, Donald Dale Hinton of Chicago; one sister, Lila Jean Rankin of Gibson City, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was a University of Illinois graduate and served her internship with Indiana University in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Rockville Christian Church and attended evening services at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church. She was a Kentucky Colonel and named a Sagamore of the Wabash.
Services are 11 a.m. (EDT) Saturday, July 12, in Dewey Mennonite Church in Dewey, Ill. Burial will follow in East Bend Memorial Garden Cemetery in Fisher, Ill.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St. in Rockville with a time of remembrance at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials, should friends so desire, may be made to a Mission or Church of choice.
