      METAMORA —Ada Mae Hostetler, 90, of Metamora, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Monday (Dec. 19, 2016) at UnityPoint Health-Methodist, Peoria. She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Cazenovia, to William and Sadie Ella Schertz Schrock. She married Maynard Ray Hostetler on Aug. 31, 1947, in Metamora. He passed away on Sept. 16, 1964.

      Surviving are her sons, Eugene (Denise) Hostetler, El Paso, and Allan (Joan) Hostetler, Morton; daughters, Doris (Dan) Mumm, Mahomet, and Carol Sue Borkholder, Kalamazoo, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Kay Hostetler, Huddleston, Va.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Willard (Arlene) Schrock, Tampa, Fla.; sister, Mildred Schrock, Goshen, Ind.; and sister-in-law, Natalina Schrock, Metamora.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Hostetler, on Nov. 8, 2016; infant brother; and brother, Ralph Schrock.

      Ada was a member of Metamora Mennonite Church and the Mennonite Women’s Group, where she enjoyed quilting. After leaving the farm, she lived at Snyder Village, where she continued her quilting and volunteered at the Et Cetera Shop in Eureka. She also enjoyed baking. She cared for her family very deeply and took on the monumental task of caring for them after the death of their father.
      Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Metamora Mennonite Church with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora Chapel, and also an hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in Stewart Harmony Cemetery, Metamora. Memorials may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or Metamora Mennonite Church.
