    • Peter and Catherine may have died from cholera within weeks of the ceremony. Catherine's headstone in Hickory Point Cemetery at Metamora describes her as, "Catharine Springer, Ehefrau des Peter Zehr gest. 1849." Peter's headstone says he was "Peter Zehr gest. 1849." [1]
