Notes - H. M. West and J. (James) W. Wilson served as witnesses to her claim of the pension funds. Arena had “a dowers interest in 160 acres of land in Section 20, Township 42, Range 3 West, valued at about $1200 from which her late husband received an income of about $70 for the last year or two....”
Also, appearing on 28 Dec 1893, J. H. Farrar aged 73 of Champion City, and H. M. West aged 48 also of Champion City, affirmed they were intimately acquainted with Arrena Jane West and her husband John Wilson prior to their marriage.

H.M. West swears on 28 Dec 1893 that he has known Arena for thirty years, and J. W. Wilson had known her twenty years. (Arena Jane met John Wilson in 1859.)
F. E. Wenkel served as JP to the claim.
On 28 Mar 1896, F. E. Wenkel, aged 54 and resident of Champion City, swears he “became acquainted with John Wilson and Arrena J. Wilson (nee West) sometime in the month of October 1865, when the affiant moved to this part of the Country...knows from personal knowloedge and observation having lived a neighbor to the parties for over thirty years.” This was sworn to H. T. Weirich, J.P.
Arena received her last pension payment of $12 on 4 Aug 1908.
