She was the daughter of William Adams and Elizabeth A. Hiatt. After her father died in 1836, her mother married Samuel Hutton. Lucinda is listed on the 1850 census as Lucinda Hutton. Samuel Hutton applied for, and received, guardianship in Franklin Co., Mo in 1851. Lucinda Childers (Lucinda Tatum) inherited part of the William Adams farm, along with Elizabeth Hiatt Adams Hutton. Lucinda married (1) Thomas Goolsby Childers July 23, 1856 in Franklin Co., Mo, son of Daniel Childers and Elizabeth Adams. He was born October 13, 1835 in Gasconade Co., Mo, and died January 25, 1901 in Springfield, Greene Co., Mo. Divorced. She married (2) W. Jasper Phillips November 1, 1863 in Franklin Co., Mo.
