FOOSLAND — Milton Joel Schrock, 92, of Foosland, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday (March 7, 2017) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Bend Mennonite Church, near Fisher, with the Rev. Michael Dean officiating. Burial will be in East Bend Memorial Gardens, near Fisher. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
He was born May 14, 1924, at home in rural Metamora, a son of Joel and Laura Garber Schrock. He married Norma Zehr on June 7, 1950. She survives in Foosland.
Also surviving are five children, Ginny (John) Veeder, LeRoy; Evie (Rick) Whittet, Gibson City; Ken (Cindy) Schrock, Freeport; Rich (Amy) Schrock, Foosland; and Steve (Tami) Schrock, Harper, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Heather (Will) Monroe, Brian (Kayla) Veeder, Sarah (Shawn) Kirkpatrick, Mark (Amy) Whittet, Joel (Emily) Schrock, Evan Schrock, Eli Schrock, Aaron Schrock, Craig (Lindsay) Schrock and Nathan (Kelsey) Schrock; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Milton was a lifelong farmer and worked at M & W Gear Co. in Gibson City. He was a member of East Bend Mennonite Church in Fisher. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family, including camping.
Memorials may be made to the Freeport MCC Meat Canning Project or East Bend Mennonite Church, Fisher. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, is in charge of arrangements.
