    • Obit:
      Eureka- Ruth Albrecht, 97, of 700 N. Main St., Eureka, Illinois went to be with her Lord on July 17, 2008 at Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka where she was a resident.

      She was born on January 21, 1911 in Eureka, IL a daughter of William N. and Fannie Ulrich Schrock. She married Wilbur A. Albrecht on December 17, 1932 in Eureka. He passed away on October 14, 1997.

      Survivors include three daughters, Rachel Varona of Eureka; Doris (David) Zehr of Grand Rapids, MI; Shirley (Wesley) Bachman of Auburn, IL; one son, Jerry (Linda) Albrecht of Gibson City, IL; one brother, Tim Schrock; two sisters, Helen (Clyde) Miller; Mary Ann Flanagan all of Eureka; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Bob; one great-grandson, Todd; and two brothers, Glen and Rollie.

      Ruth accepted Jesus when she was a child. She spent her life striving to serve her Savior in everything she said and did. She was a member of the Mennonite Church.

      She had a large garden and gave to the mission or anyone else in need. She was also an avid quilter. Ruth worked on hundreds of quilts for relief and family.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 19, 2008 at the Maple Lawn Homes chapel. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. before the service. Burial will be private. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ruestmanharrisfuneralhome.com.  [2]
