    • Obit:
      BIRKY, LEWIS A., 88, of Gibson City, died at 6:08 p.m. Thursday, 6-24-1999 at his residence. His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gibson City Bible Church, the Rev. Paul Thomason officiating. Burial will be in East Bend Memorial Gardens, Fisher.
      Mr. Birky was born 3-13-1911 in Foosland, a son of Chris and Magdalena Cender Birky. He married Eunice Good 2-14-1942 in Rantoul. She survives.
      Other survivors include on daughter, Jennie Lynn (Mac) Kornelsen, Aurora, CO.; and one son, Douglas Roy (Carolyn) Birky, Sidney. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mark and James Kornelsen; and Joseph, Luke and Sarah Birky. A daughter, Rita Sue Birky; a sister, Martha Yoder; one brother, Harvey Birky; and an infant brother preceded him in death. [Contributed by Gail Hahn Hutchcraft].
