      In the Berthelming municipal cemetery, a square was reserved for the burial of non-Catholic people. Several members of the Schertz and Schantz families are buried there. The Schertz were millers at Berthelming for several generations. Some of them have assumed elective functions, including that of mayor. The Schantz and Schertz were apparent by marriage. [1]
