  • Notes
    • On August 1, 1937, he married Fern Stalter. They had four children: David, Paul, Mary Alice, and Janet.

Gilbert spent most of his adult life operating grain elevators in central Illinois. He spent a number of years in Seneca, and eventually took over the operation of the elevator at Secor, Illinois. Gilbert had the most infectious laugh of all of the "Yordy Boys". He was also a very gifted player of the game, dominoes. [2]
