Hi David,
Since Miamisburg is near the Butler Co. Ohio Amish Mennonite settlement and it figures in the lives of many that lived in the area I’d guess your Jacob may be the same Jcob who married Barbara. I have nothing more on Jacob, but may be able to find a bit more about Barbara. Please send what you have about Barbara and I’ll try to determine if your Jacob was her husband.

Hi,
My g-g-grandfather was a Jacob Rockey and I wonder if he may be the Jacob who married Barbara Salzman. The dates are right, but the locations don’t quite connect: he lived in the Miamisburg OH area which is near (but not in) Butler County OH. I’ll be happy to share what I have on Barbara Salzman and would appreciate any additional information you may have on Jacob. Best regards, David

Hi Blake,
So glad you found the website and I hope it gave you some insights or clues to your search for your Salzmann ancestry. As you no doubt know, there are several spellings of the surname, but it is more than likely that they all originate from one basic place, and likely in Switzerland.
I am back to my 6th great grandfather in France, but I’m sure earlier generations were in Switzerland.
